Cooler Heads
“California Innovation Fund has been phenomenal to work with since I met the team as part of the Rosenman Innovators program at UCSF. The team understands healthcare and immediately understood how treating the whole patient is a game changer for health systems.”
- Kate Dilligan, Founder and CEO
Cooler Heads is a technology company that is focused on making scalp cooling, the therapy that allows chemotherapy patients to keep their hair, profitable for infusion centers. Kate Dilligan founded the company from her own experience as a breast cancer patient who paid more than $8,000 to keep her hair during chemotherapy for breast cancer. Her mission resulted in Amma, the only portable FDA cleared platform for scalp cooling. Because Amma users keep their hair, patients are able to decide whether or not to be forthcoming about the fact they are undergoing chemotherapy with the outside world which is a critical component of their mental health.
